JEFFERSON, Iowa – High school and college students in the Greene County Medical Center service area who are interested in pursuing a career in a healthcare-related field can apply for scholarships from the Foundation and the Auxiliary.

“One of the most fulfilling parts of my position with the Greene County Medical Center Foundation is the opportunity to see the future of healthcare in action,” said Director, Nancy Houska. “It is an honor to learn more about the drive and dedication these students are putting into their chosen careers and to help them while also working to ensure the continuation of high quality medical services in our region. I encourage any student interested in furthering a healthcare focused education to submit an application to the Foundation and the Auxiliary.”

Students can submit applications for one or both of these scholarship opportunities. Applications and guidelines can be found under the About Us tab at gcmchealth.com, at the guidance counselor offices of local schools or by calling 515-386-0102.

Applications, references and transcripts must be mailed or hand delivered to the attention of the Administrative Assistant at Greene County Medical Center by April 1.

Additional healthcare scholarship opportunities are available through the Iowa Hospital Education Research Foundation (IHERF), an Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) subsidiary.
