JEFFERSON, Iowa – What if you could give something to your loved ones that was also then available to everyone in our local communities? What if you could provide love and support to those in our region who are only asking for better health this season? What if your one gift made the biggest amount of difference to the most people in our area, not only this year, but for years to come? Would that be a gift worth buying?

There is still time for everyone to put meaning into this giving season by supporting the Greene County Medical Center Foundation in their 2024 Greene Backer campaign. “Every day we hear the stories of people who are grateful for the services and programs available right here at our medical center,” said Foundation Director, Nancy Houska. “Whether they are finally able to get relief from long-term pain or are able to have an outpatient procedure without added time off work and having to travel hours away, these individuals are examples of just how widespread a simple gift to the Foundation can be.”

Last year, Greene Backer donors subsidized the purchase of radiofrequency ablation equipment for the Greene County Medical Center Pain Clinic and a multi-use ultrasound machine that is utilized by the Urology, Cardiac, Pain, Emergency, Acute and Orthopedic departments.

“Greene County Hospital was founded 87 years ago to provide healthcare services to each and every resident of our county,” Houska explained. “The very cornerstone of what has become Greene County Medical Center is built on the generosity of others, with gifts of farmland from Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Henderson and Mrs. Lydia Turpin. Their philanthropy ignited an outpouring of support from the people of the county who provided funds for equipment, furnishings and services. As a not-for-profit organization, we continue to rely on the backing of our community partners and individuals who help us meet your needs day-in and day-out; ensuring we remain Always Here, Always Caring for generations to come. Thank you to all of you who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others.”
