Nutritional Expertise and Diet Instruction
The Greene County Medical Center Nutritional Services team team takes pride in serving patient and staff meals, snacks, and refreshments, seven days a week. We offer many diets and supplements for patients with special dietary needs.
If indicated, our dietitian will visit and provide a service called Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). MNT includes a nutritional assessment and appropriate nutrition-related interventions that address disease or weight change. It may involve simple changes in a person’s diet, supplement recommendations, tube feedings and more. MNT may help patients recover more quickly and spend less time in the hospital. The registered dietitian will schedule a time that is convenient for you to meet at their office. This meeting may occur after your initial doctor's appointment if scheduling allows.
Outpatient Nutrition Counseling
Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides outpatient nutrition counseling for a variety of conditions and concerns. Patients should visit their primary care provider who will determine if nutrition counseling is appropriate and provide a referral as needed.
Patients can also contact our dietitian directly and they will obtain the required paperwork from your doctor and schedule a time that is convenient for you to meet at their office.
